Inventory Specialist

Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees **What You'll Be Doing:** * Oversee daily storeroom and warehouse operations, ensuring accurate inventory control, proper material flow, and safe handling practices. * Implement and maintain effective systems and processes for receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and documenting materials, including ERP (SAP) transaction accuracy and reporting. * Coordinate closely with maintenance, production, procurement, and logistics teams to forecast needs, manage purchase orders, support operational requirements, and assist with cross‑border shipments. * Lead, train, and support storeroom staff while fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment aligned with PPE, quality, environmental, and audit standards. * Maintain strong inventory discipline by monitoring stock levels, identifying slow‑moving, obsolete, or critical items, and recommending appropriate adjustments. * Execute and oversee inventory controls such as cycle counts, physical inventories, variance investigations, and continuous improvement of stock accuracy. * Organize materials efficiently by managing storage, labeling, equipment use, and warehouse layout to optimize space and accessibility. **What Are We Looking For:** * 3–5 years of experience in industrial stores or warehouse supervision; cement or heavy industry preferred * Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP platforms, ideally SAP * Diploma or degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; not required * Effective communicator and collaborator across functions, vendors, and logistics partners * Skilled in organizing work, prioritizing in a fast‑paced industrial environment, and leading a team **What We Offer:** * Competitive base salary and participation in our annual incentive plan. * 401(k) retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributions. * Highly competitive benefits programs, including:   * Medical, Dental, and Vision along with Prescription Drug Benefits   * Health Saving Savings Account (HSA), Health Reimbursement - Account (HRA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA)   * AD&D, Short- and Long-Term Disability Coverage as well as Basic Life Insurance  ​Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Veteran / Disabled
