Java Developer – Front-End

### Overview * [Tier One Technologies](https://himalayas.app/companies/tier-one-technologies) is seeking a Java Developer with a strong front-end development background to support our US Government client. * This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position. * Must be a US Citizen. * SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT. ### Responsibilities * Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications supporting internal systems. * Implement front-end features using JavaScript and CSS. * Work with Apache Struts frameworks to enhance and maintain existing applications. * Troubleshoot and resolve software defects in a timely manner. * Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to meet project milestones and ensure quality. * Follow US Federal Government security and development standards, documentation requirements, and best practices. ### Qualifications * A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or related discipline. * 5+ years of experience in Java development. * Hands-on experience with JavaScript, CSS and Apache Struts. * Proficiency in object-oriented programming and enterprise application development. * Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git). * Familiarity with JSP, Tomcat, or related web technologies is a PLUS. * Knowledge of Agile methodologies. * Solid understanding of secure coding practices and application hardening. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Must be a US Citizen (no dual citizenship). * Must be to obtain DoD Public Trust clearance. * Must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years. * Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years.
