### WE ARE HIRING: Lead AI Engineer **Location:** Remote (Sri Lanka) **Employment Type:** Full Time **Industry:** Artificial Intelligence / Analytics Platform / SaaS Technology ### Role Overview We are seeking an experienced **Lead AI Engineer** to drive the technical direction of a cutting-edge AI-powered analytics platform that enables business users to gain insights from enterprise data through natural language queries. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for designing and developing the AI core, agent architecture, knowledge systems, evaluation frameworks, and predictive intelligence capabilities that power enterprise-grade AI solutions. ### Key Responsibilities * Build and enhance the agent runtime and orchestration framework for complex multi-step business analysis. * Design systems that plan investigations, execute parallel queries, coordinate specialized AI agents, and generate actionable insights. * Own natural language to SQL and DAX query generation capabilities across enterprise data environments. * Develop deterministic query generation patterns and governed metric layers to ensure accuracy and reliability. * Design and maintain ontologies, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, and retrieval systems that power AI reasoning. * Develop anomaly detection, clustering, forecasting, and recommendation capabilities to proactively deliver business insights. * Optimize AI systems for performance, scalability, cost efficiency, and responsiveness. * Implement model tiering, prompt optimization, caching strategies, streaming responses, and parallel processing techniques. * Develop evaluation frameworks, testing processes, release gates, and experimentation methodologies for AI systems. * Ensure AI security through row-level access controls, prompt injection defenses, schema pruning, and tool governance. * Support rapid onboarding of new business domains through configurable AI frameworks. * Provide technical leadership while remaining actively involved in hands-on engineering and problem solving. ### Candidate Profile * Strong track record in **AI Engineering** with recent experience delivering production-grade LLM-based systems. * Hands-on expertise building agentic AI systems including orchestration, tool usage, structured outputs, and multi-step planning. * Strong SQL skills and deep understanding of enterprise data warehouses. * Experience troubleshooting and optimizing AI-generated outputs across prompts, queries, and data schemas. * Experience building ontologies, knowledge graphs, semantic layers, or retrieval-augmented systems. * Proven success designing evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic AI systems. * Experience developing predictive analytics solutions including anomaly detection, clustering, and forecasting. * Strong software engineering skills with production-grade Python development. * Experience building asynchronous services, streaming APIs, and scalable AI architectures. * Ability to define technical strategy while remaining actively involved in implementation. ### Preferred Skills * Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and DAX. * Azure ecosystem experience. * Vector databases such as pgvector. * LLM observability and AI cost optimization tools. * Multi-tenant SaaS platform experience. * TypeScript knowledge. * Experience working within early-stage product environments. ### What We Offer * Opportunity to work on advanced AI and agentic systems solving real enterprise challenges. * Remote-first working environment with a highly experienced senior team. * Direct interaction with clients and exposure to complex business problems. * Significant influence over product direction and technical architecture. * Exposure to cutting-edge AI technologies and enterprise-scale deployments. ### Ready to take your career to new heights?
