Lead SWE 2 - Backend

Sense is looking for a **Lead Software Engineer - II** to join our **Voice Engineering** team in **Bangalore**. This is a senior **Individual Contributor (IC)** role, where you'll be responsible for designing and building highly scalable, multi-system backend services with strict SLAs. You'll play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction of the team and establishing best engineering practices. **Note:** This is a full-time, **on-site** position based out of our **Bangalore office**. You will be expected to work from the office 4 days a week. ### **Responsibilities** * **System Design & Architecture:** Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient backend systems. * **Engineering Leadership:** Drive technical discussions and decision-making within the team. Conduct thorough **tech design and code reviews** to ensure high-quality, maintainable, and robust code. * **Engineering Excellence:** Establish and promote best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and deployment processes. * **System Optimization:** Implement **monitoring and observability** practices to track system performance and proactively identify bottlenecks. Optimize systems for cost efficiency, scalability, and resilience on AWS. **Mentorship:** Guide and mentor other engineers on the team, helping them grow their technical skills and understand complex system designs.
