Machine Shop Lead

**Essential Responsibilities** * Lead daily shop floor activities and assist in prioritizing work assignments. * Assist with troubleshooting machining, setup, tooling, fixture and equipment issues to minimize downtime. * Support production scheduling and ensure work is completed efficiently and on time. * Serve as a resource for team members regarding processes, equipment, and quality standards. * Monitor workflow and communicate staffing or production concerns to management. * Assist with onboarding and training of new employees. * Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with all safety requirements. * Support quality initiatives and assist in resolving production issues. * Foster teamwork, accountability, and positive employee relations. * Coordinate with other departments to ensure operational needs are met. * Perform other duties as assigned. * Support continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction, and process improvement activities. **Minimum Qualifications** * High school diploma or equivalent required. * Working knowledge of machining equipment, tooling, and inspection methods. * Must have experience with milling equipment and machine shop practices * Demonstrated technical knowledge of machine shop operations. * Strong communication and problem-solving skills. **Preferred Qualifications** * Prior experience serving as a lead, trainer, mentor, or informal team leader preferred * Ability to lead and influence others without direct authority. * Basic computer proficiency.
