**Job Category:** ================= Manufacturing & Operations **Job Family:** =============== Repair & Maintenance **Work Shift:** =============== GN (United States of America) **Job Description:** ==================== **Maintenance Mechanic Technician Level 2** **What you’ll do** * _Perform maintenance on plant process equipment, including wrappers, conveyors, MFDs, checkweigher, metal detector, code dating systems, autocasers, box makers, palletizer, stretch wrapper, fork trucks and pallet trucks._ * _Perform modifications, component replacements, trouble-shooting, calibration, adjustments, performance checks, lubrication and start-up checks of equipment_ * _Disassemble parts of the above machines at shutdown as required and prepare machines for sanitation.  Reassemble machines after sanitation and set-up for production including complete pre-start-up checks for proper operation.  Assist operators with start-up._ * _Perform mechanical projects as assigned including planning of and for, purchase of materials, modification or installation of parts or components and major overhaul of assigned equipment._ * _Share responsibility for maintenance of and training on ink-jet code dating systems including maintaining appropriate backup documentation and programs for the computer system_ * _Provide training and stewardship for TPM in the department and plant_ * _Any and all other duties as assigned by the TA/TL_ **What you need to succeed** * _High School Diploma – G.E.D._ * _Ability to learn basic electrical skills_ * _Must know the use of hand tools and power tools_ * _Ability to learn computer systems and operations_ * _Ability to learn to operate all equipment, including wrappers and related equipment_ * _Must have an absenteeism rate of 65 points or less, commendable or better record in teamwork and overall job performance and have no disciplinary action._ * English speaking/reading requirement in positions that require comprehension of the English language.    * _Must qualify on level 2 of Maintenance Testing_ * _If you start in position as LVL 1, testing for LVL 2 must be completed within 1 year of accepting bid._ * _Partners who are at LVL 1, will be considered in a probationary state for the first year, until LVL 2 testing is passed._ **Experience** * _Maintenance of packaging and industrial equipment or one-year military or technical schooling in some areas of mechanics._ **Physical demands** * _Stand – 4.5 hours_ * _Walk – 4.5 hours_ * _Sit – 1.5 hours_ * _Forklift use - .5 hours_ * _Lift/carry up to 125 pounds – 1 hour_ **Wage: Production 06-MT2 ($29.56-$32.77 base wage) 24-MONTH PROGRESSION** **Eligible partners will receive:** =================================== **Eligible partners will receive:** * **Get not one, but TWO retirement benefits.** When you join our employee-owned company, you’ll be part of our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) from day one.
