**Job Title** Maintenance Worker I **Agency** Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service **Department** 4-H Youth Development **Proposed Minimum Salary** $15.00 hourly **Job Location** Brownwood, Texas **Job Type** Staff **Job Description** **Job Description Summary** =========================== The Maintenance Worker I, under supervision, maintains buildings and equipment for assigned department. **Responsibilities** ==================== * Performs preventative maintenance, repairs and service work on machinery, equipment and fixtures. * Performs skilled trade work including painting, carpentry, plumbing, plastering, cementing and electrical work. Performs electrical and acetylene welding, brazing and soldering. * Moves heavy equipment and assists in special set-ups. * Operates machinery such as drill press, sharpeners, table saws, chain saws, lawn mowers, edgers, weed eaters and other miscellaneous equipment. * Repairs sidewalks, sewer lines, building slabs, streets and related installations. * Assists in preparing floors and occasionally replaces broken or missing tile. Finishes and repairs furniture as needed. * Performs other duties as assigned. **Qualifications** ================== **Required Education and Experience:** * High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. * One year of related experience. **Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** * Ability to multi task and work cooperatively with others. **Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** * Excellent oral, written, and electronic communication skills. * Ability to effectively use personal computer to communicate, prepare proposals to include cost information on spreadsheet as applicable, and provide reports of activities. * Ability to effectively communicate with faculty, students and staff.
