**Position Purpose**
The Parks Manager manages, oversees, and supervises the use, care, operation, construction, general management, and budget of the Parks and related facilities for the City of Dallas.
**Essential Functions**
**Manager Parks - Events/Community Outreach:**
**1** Leads planning, coordination, and execution of high-profile events while strengthening community engagement and public relations.
**2** Oversee event reservations, site visits, volunteer programs, community partnerships, neighborhood engagement initiatives, and free public events that enhance the visitor experience.
**3** Oversee website content related to events, coordinating digital communications, and managing social media strategies that promote programs, increase community participation, and strengthen the organization's brand.
**4** Expands and maintains community partnerships, delivers measurable results through strategic outreach, marketing, and engagement through communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
**5** Develop executive-level presentations
**6** Maintain accurate records, prepare comprehensive reports, and communicate effectively with leadership, stakeholders, community organizations, media partners, and the public.
**7** Manage work and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
* Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to the operational unit or functional program and the principles and practices of public administration and management.
* Knowledge of planning, managing events, buildings and facilities.
* Ability to manage unit/program activities.
* Ability to establish and obtain operating goals and objectives for unit.
* Ability to devise solutions to administrative problems and to plan, assigns, and/or supervises the work of others.
* Ability to develop and evaluate administrative policies and procedures.
* Ability to disseminate information through the preparation concise reports.
* Ability to supervise a staff.
* Ability to administer budget.
* Ability to communicate effectively, at all levels, both orally and in writing.
* Ability to organize and facilitate multi-faceted logistics for events throughout the City.
* Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with all levels of management, city officials, vendors, other government agencies, other employees and the general public.
**Minimum Qualifications**
**Experience**
* Five years of experience in administration, grounds maintenance, landscaping, athletic field maintenance, irrigation, horticulture or and/or forestry. 3 plus years of managing/supervising staff, can be concurrent.
**Education**
* Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Recreation, Leisure Services, Business Administration, Agronomy, Forestry or related field.
**Equivalency**
High school diploma or GED plus nine (9) years of the required experience including three (3) years of supervisory/management responsibilities will meet the education and experience requirements.
**Salary Range**
$81,120.00 - $101,400.00
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
