Mid-Level Java Microservices and Data Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Mid-Level Java Microservices & Data Platform Engineer to support a strategic GenAI-driven modernization initiative focused on enhancing the Banzai producer experience. This role will play a critical part in designing, developing, and optimizing scalable backend systems and real-time data pipelines. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture, along with exposure to distributed data platforms and modern cloud-native technologies. Key Responsibilities: \- Design and develop scalable microservices using Java 8 and Spring Boot \- Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting high-volume enterprise applications \- Develop and optimize data pipelines for batch and streaming workloads \- Enhance Kafka-based real-time data processing systems \- Contribute to Spark-based ETL processes and data transformation pipelines \- Implement observability solutions using tools like Grafana and Splunk \- Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes/OpenShift environments \- Ensure system performance, reliability, and security through best practices \- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems with Hadoop/Databricks ecosystems Required Skills & Qualifications: \- 5–7 years of experience in backend development \- Strong proficiency in Java 8 and Spring Boot microservices \- Experience with REST API development and integration \- Knowledge of Kafka and event-driven architectures \- Exposure to Spark or large-scale data processing frameworks \- Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) \- Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Splunk) \- Understanding of CI/CD and version control tools (Git, Bitbucket) Preferred Qualifications: \- Experience in enterprise data platforms \- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and data lake environments (Databricks/Hadoop) \- Experience in secure application development and authentication mechanisms Location: Chennai, India Experience Level: Mid-Level (5–7 years) This Mid-Level Developer role (5–7 years experience, Chennai) is critical to supporting a high-priority strategic initiative focused on modernizing the Banzai producer experience.
