**Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.** **Job Summary** Observes cardiac monitors to identify abnormal heart rhythms under the supervision of a registered nurse. Performs duties in a centralized monitoring environment that monitors patients across multiple departments. Job Description **Essential Functions** * All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference. * Observes cardiac monitors and reports any changes in cardiac rhythm per policy. * Receives report from the previous shift and documents strips per policy. * Responsible for the management and distribution of transmitter boxes. Ensures transmitter boxes are returned to the surveillance center in a timely manner after discontinuation of telemetry monitoring. * Reports problems regarding poor transmission, etc. to the appropriate unit and personnel.  Reports telemetry system failures to designated personnel and departments. * Completes telemetry summary report per policy guidelines. * Triages incoming phone calls, provides appropriate information in a calm and concise manner and logs phone calls. * Maintains adequate supplies and keeps the monitoring areas and equipment clean and organized. * Participates in training and the continuous development of new staff. Attends educational programs, in-services and meetings as required. * Performs other duties as assigned. **Supervisory/Management Responsibilities** * This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. **Minimum Requirements** * Education - High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Experience - No previous experience required.
