Newsnation - Segment Producer - Nnl Weekend

**Duties & Responsibilities:** * Assist in the control room breaking news * Pitch stories and segment ideas regularly * Research topics using the Internet, video archives, and other information sources. * Select strongest possible elements to help best tell stories. * Write, organize, and produce scripts and elements for show and interview segments or packages. * Assist in preparing and executing live, compelling television newscasts. * Keep Executive Producer and Senior Producer apprised of developments of stories. * Perform other duties as assigned by Executive Producer and Senior Producer or network leadership. * Mentor other staff members. **Requirements & Skills:** * Flexibility to work different shifts * Experience producing for a national news program or producing newscasts in a top 10 market * Experience covering politics and government * Strong news judgement * Quick decision maker and creative thinker * Effective coach and mentor to staff of all experience levels * Collaborative team player who advocates for their show but find ways to elevate network reporting * Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience * Excellent communication skills, both oral and written * Ability to adapt to change, meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously * Proficiency with ENPS **Salary Range**: $66,300 to 80,000 (per experience) **Benefits:** Our comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees includes, but not limited to, medical (with multiple plan options), dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) with company matching contributions, Paid Parental leave, life insurance and more.   Part time employees are eligible for 401(k) and any local/state leave plans.  Union positions are subject to the benefits outlined in their Collective Bargaining Agreement. #LI-Onsite
