Nondestructive Test Examiner

You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST EXAMINER in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION AND NDT DIVISION, QUALITY ASSURANCE OFFICE of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. Major Duties: - You will perform visual inspection, liquid penetrant inspection magnetic particle inspection, and eddy current inspection or ultrasonic thickness, during the removal and overhaul on both nuclear and nonnuclear ship/boats. - You will participate in conducting audits, submitting reports, and recommendations. - You will investigate and submit reports on assigned problem areas and special projects. - You will perform inspections as a preventative maintenance measure on critical systems on nuclear submarines, welds and components. - You will work in association with engineers/metallurgists towards investigation/resolution of problems.
