**City/State:** Nyack, New York **Department:** Nursing Administration **Work Shift:** Day **Work Days:** DAYS VARY **Scheduled Hours:** 11 AM-7:30 PM, 3 PM-11 PM **Scheduled Daily Hours:** 8 HOURS **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 0 **Hourly Rate/Range:** $23.00 - $27.00 For positions that have only a rate listed, the displayed rate is the hiring rate but could be subject to change based on shift differential, experience, education or other relevant factors. **Job Summary** Assists Nurse Managers/Supervisors and Directors of Nursing in providing an adequate staff of nursing personnel for all shifts throughout the development, preparation of specific personnel schedules and maintenance of all staffing schedules that meet the needs of the hospital and apply to variable census conditions. **Essential Functions** * C. MISSION/STRATEGIC PLAN: Participates in activities which support the mission of the hospital C. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES: Demonstrates the required job specific technical/professional knowledge, skills and abilities. \* 1\. Assists DONs, Managers, and Supervisors in providing an adequate number of nursing personnel for all shifts through the development of specific personnel schedules and maintenance of all staffing schedules that meet the needs of the hospital and variable census conditions. 2\. Refer to established unit staffing patterns and core to determine minimum staffing requirements for each nursing classification (RN, PCA, Nurse Aide and Unit Secretary). Assign available float personnel whenever necessary to fill a work load complement. 3\. Copy and post unit schedules on each unit and retain master schedules at the staffing desk. 4\. Accept changes and transfers made by Nurse Managers to meet a particular schedule i.e; Staffing Change Authorization Sheet, Speedi-Memo and record such changes and transfers on schedules. All schedules to be computerized. 5\. Receives and documents requests for Private Duty nurses and coordinates with New York State Registry. 6\. Provide clerical support to nursing office required reports and records. Distribute mail timely to Nursing Management. 7\. Provides clerical support for the Time and Attendance System. Assist payroll coordinator as needed to ensure accurate payroll information. a) for assigned areas enters all approved time and timekeeping edits in the automated Time and Attendance System for all nursing department employees weekly. b) Maintains and interprets accrual records for nursing department employees. c) Responds to Nursing Department employee inquiries regarding payroll hours and/or errors. d) Handles manual check requests. e) Heavy phone contact. \* Document on addendum age specific competency.
