In this important role, you'll help guide patients through the healthcare journey by coordinating appointments, gathering information, communicating with care teams, and ensuring patients are prepared for their visits. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a talent for organization and problem-solving. Your work will help ensure patients receive timely access to care while creating a positive and supportive experience from the very first interaction. The starting annual salary for this position is $42,641 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package. What You'll Do: In this role, you will: Serve as a key point of contact for patients, families, referring providers, and internal care teams Coordinate the intake and registration process for new and returning patients Gather and review patient information to support appointment scheduling and care coordination Schedule clinic visits, consultations, diagnostic testing, and other services as needed Communicate with referring physicians and healthcare providers to obtain necessary information and records Help patients navigate the appointment process and answer questions about next steps Coordinate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure a seamless patient experience Assist with hospital admissions and other access-related activities Verify insurance information and support financial clearance processes Maintain accurate records and ensure timely documentation of patient information What You'll Bring We're looking for someone who: Enjoys helping people and providing exceptional customer service Has strong organizational skills and can effectively manage multiple priorities Communicates clearly and professionally with patients, families, providers, and colleagues Is detail-oriented and committed to accuracy Works well independently while also collaborating with a team Remains calm and compassionate in a fast-paced healthcare environment Has strong problem-solving skills and can navigate complex situations with professionalism Is comfortable working with technology, scheduling systems, and patient information Previous experience in patient access, healthcare scheduling, medical office administration, customer service, healthcare registration, insurance verification, or care coordination is beneficial but not required. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification; or 2\. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).
