Mercy Clinic Women's Health is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and customer-focused **Patient Services Representative** to join our team at our Ladue Road OB/GYN practice. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming experience while supporting the daily operations of a busy women's health clinic.
The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys helping patients navigate their healthcare journey, and demonstrates exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
What You'll Do

As a Patient Services Representative, you will:
* Welcome patients and verify demographic and insurance information in a courteous and professional manner.
* Manage patient check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, and registration activities.
* Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with inquiries and appointment needs.
* Create and maintain accurate patient records in Epic and other electronic systems.
* Process scanning, faxing, mail distribution, and general clerical duties.
* Review schedules and coordinate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
* Notify patients of delays and help maintain a positive patient experience.
* Schedule procedures, diagnostic testing, and specialty appointments as needed.
* Provide surgical and procedural estimates and Good Faith Estimates in accordance with the No Surprises Act.
* Resolve patient concerns and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
* Manage work queues and assist with accounts receivable activities.
* Balance and reconcile daily cash drawer transactions.
* Establish payment plans and assist patients with financial questions.
* Maintain confidentiality and protect patient health information in compliance with HIPAA and Mercy policies.
* Serve as a resource and change champion for new initiatives and Epic updates.
* Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming reception area in accordance with Infection Control guidelines.
* Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to promote exceptional patient care.
Qualifications
--------------
### Education
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
### Experience
* Demonstrated proficiency in Patient Services Representative and Advanced Patient Services Representative competencies.
* Previous healthcare, medical office, OB/GYN, women's health, or physician practice experience preferred.
### Skills & Abilities
* Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, billing, and registration processes.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent customer service and patient relations abilities.
* Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
* Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
* Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy clinical environment.
* Adaptability and professionalism under pressure.
Physical Requirements

* Ability to occasionally lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.
