Patient Support Technician Oncology Nursing Pt Variable

**Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.** **Job Summary** Provides direct care as assigned. Performs patient phlebotomy as assigned. May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedures that require the use of non-prescription medications. **Essential Functions** * All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose:  Inspire health.  Serve with compassion.  Be the difference. * Performs responsibilities accurately, timely, and safely for assigned patients/area * Communicates and informs appropriate personnel, patients and family members of pertinent information in a timely manner * Maintains accurate paper and electronic documentation * Utilizes equipment and supplies safely and appropriately; orders supplies as needed; labels specimens correctly * Performs basic nursing care, simple and complex procedures, multiple treatments, waived testing and transports assigned patients * Shows proficiency in blood collection and performs task in timely and accurate manner * Performs other duties as assigned **Supervisory/Management Responsibility** * This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. **Minimum Requirements** * Education - Successful completion of tech training course as evidenced by Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam or nursing fundamentals from accredited organization.  Successful completion of a phlebotomy course from an accredited organization required. Medical Assistant Training acceptable. High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred. * Experience - One (1) year of nurse tech hospital experience or skilled nursing facility is required if the candidate does not meet all of the educational requirements. Two (2) years NT/NA experience preferred. Three (3) months of phlebotomy experience preferred. ****In Lieu Of**** * In lieu of school verification of a nursing assistant training course, will accept current or former state CN A certification as proof of completed state required training at time of hire.    * In lieu of school verification of a medical assistant training course, will accept current or former CMA certification as proof of completed required training at time of hire. **Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses** * Heart saver certification * Candidate must successfully complete System's phlebotomy course and training within 90 days of hire **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** * Computer proficiency. **Work Shift** Variable (United States of America) **Location** Tuomey **Facility** 1570 Tuomey Hospital **Department** 15706106 Oncology Nursing Share your talent with us!
