Pipefitter Welder - Colorado Refinery

Are you an experienced pipe fitter/welder with hands-on experience in piping, tubing, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and boilers, who can read drawings and ISOs, complete high-quality fabrication and installation work, maintain welding certifications, and safely operate a wide range of tools and equipment? Based at Suncor’s Commerce City refinery, the position requires strong communication and teamwork, and readiness to work. **Minimum Requirements:**  * Minimum of 3 years of related fitting and welding experience with piping, tubing, shell and tube heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and boilers * A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) and a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to Suncor * Ability to **pass a 6G SMAW Uphill (2” super coupon) test** proctored by Suncor inspection and maintain active status _within_ * Exceptional communication and collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups **Responsibilities:**  * Read and interpret drawings and ISOs to perform fabrication and field installations * Fabricate and install threaded pipe, socket welded pipe and butt weld piping configurations * Install valves, steam tracing (tubing), test piping systems, hangers, supports, maintenance repairs * Operate all tools and equipment associated with this job such as carry decks, fork lifts, man lifts (articulating and scissor), basic rigging, and operation of pneumatic tools, electric tools, oxy-acetylene cutting and plasma cutting * Maintain a welding certification with x-ray quality **Location and other Key Details:** * You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5801 Brighton Blvd.  * Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, 5x8 hour shifts Monday through Friday OR 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Thursday, depending on business needs * Paid overtime, often 100-600+ hours per year based on plant needs * You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces * This position is safety sensitive * In alignment with Suncor’s value of Safety Above All Else, _we conduct pre-employment drug testing, employment verification, education verification, background checks, and other pre-employment assessments as a condition of employment_ **Hourly Rate and Compensation Details:**  * This is a union represented position under USW 12-477 * $55.16 per hour with annual increases * Competitive and flexible employee benefits package that can be adjusted to suit the changing needs of your life, including: 3 medical options (including HSA and FSA options), 2 dental options, vision coverage, and an Employee Assistance Plan * Excellent 401(k) plan with up to a 6% vested match * Suncor-funded Cash Balance defined benefit pension plan (vests in 3 years) * Relocation support will be provided **Think we are a fit?
