Process Engineer 3 - Paint Manufacturing

Apogee Architectural Metals **Position Summary** The Process Engineer III serves as a senior technical expert for assigned manufacturing technologies. This role leads complex process improvements, mentors engineers, and supports broader operational and capital initiatives. **_Key Responsibilities_** **Process Development** * Serve as SME for assigned for Painting Processes * Lead research on new products, processes and methods for Paint processes * Lead the development and implementation of process advancement initiatives Paint processes **Data Analysis** * Monitor and analyze operational and process data to identify improvements * Implement and utilize process monitoring systems to improve consistency of painting processes **Problem Solving** * Lead complex technical problem-solving initiatives using structured methods **Project Management** * Lead large scale, multi-faceted capital projects using good project management practices * Lead new product introductions and process changes **Team Collaboration/Mentorship** * Partner with site leadership to align technical improvements to business needs * Mentor junior process engineers in process and project leadership **_Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities_** * Deep technical expertise in manufacturing processes * Advanced analytical and structured problem-solving capability * Ability to influence operational decisions using data and process knowledge * Advanced project management skills using scope, justification, budget and scheduling tools * Effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders * Ability and willingness to mentor junior process engineers **_Education and Experience_** * **Education** * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field * Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred * Project management (PMP or PMO) certificate preferred * **Experience** * 5-8 years of process engineering experience * Minimum of 5-years of experience with liquid paint application processes * 3+ years of project management experience * Demonstrated structured problem solving **_Work Environment/Travel Requirements_** * Frequent exposure to manufacturing environment. * Extended periods of office work on a computer and in team meetings. * Regional day travel is expected with this role. * Overnight travel requirements will be variable based on projects and business activities, expected up to 10% * Physical Requirements * Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments. #LI-MC1 **Our Benefits** We care about and invest in our employees.
