To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a **Process engineer** located in **Guadalajara North**
Reporting to the **Director, Process Engineering** the **Process engineer** role involves developing, optimizing, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in production operations.
Leads troubleshooting, process validation, equipment implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and sustain manufacturing performance.
**What a typical day looks like:**
* Recognize the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques and the product.
* Define, implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
* Support and optimize SMT manufacturing processes, including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow and inspection processes.
* Monitor and improve SMT line performance through yield analysis, downtime reduction and process optimization.
* Have the capability to singly or with other engineering stakeholders identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process.
* Lead troubleshooting activities related to SMT defects, including solder bridges, insufficient solder, tombstoning, misalignment and component placement issues.
* High level participation in daily production activities and effective problem solving on daily issues.
* Prepare justification, purchase and implement capital equipment for production.
* Hold up and oversee new process equipment production.
* Support installation, qualification and validation of SMT equipment and related manufacturing processes.
* Hold up the raising and introduction of engineering change orders (ECOs).
* Establish robust, repeatable and reproducible process parameters.
* Develop and maintain process settings for stencil printing, SPI, pick-and-place, reflow ovens and AOI systems.
* Develop, implement and take ownership of process control methodologies.
* Trouble shoot process related issues.
* Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
* Evaluate and select various engineered materials, including solder paste, fluxes and SMT consumables.
* Implement statistical process research on new and existing products.
* Implement safety, productivity and yield improvements.
* Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
* Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities and yields.
* Develop and maintain process documentation.
* Review processing methods.
* Interface with production on all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
* Assist in the development of training and provide training to production personnel during new technology transfer.
* Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
* Guide cost improvement/reduction programs focused on SMT operations and manufacturing efficiency.
**The experience we’re looking to add to our team:**
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in a Manufacturing or Process Engineering role within the electronics industry.
* Hands-on experience with SMT (Surface Mount Technology) manufacturing processes.
* Strong knowledge of solder paste printing, SPI, pick-and-place equipment, reflow ovens and AOI systems.
* Experience troubleshooting SMT process issues and implementing corrective actions.
* Knowledge of PCB and PCBA manufacturing processes.
* Experience with process validation, DOE, SPC and root cause analysis methodologies.
* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Experience supporting NPI (New Product Introduction) and engineering change implementations.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
