Job Description
**Position Summary:**
---------------------
We are looking for a Program Manager to coordinate and govern the portfolio of Data Engineering, DevOps, and Platform Engineering initiatives across the enterprise. Rather than running a single project, you'll orchestrate multiple related projects toward broader business outcomes — owning program strategy, delivery governance, intake, financials, and risk. You'll be the bridge between engineering squads and business/leadership stakeholders, ensuring the right work is prioritized, planned, and delivered predictably. Reports into Data & AI leadership.
**Key Responsibilities:**
-------------------------
### **Program Strategy & Business Alignment:**
* Translate business objectives into a coordinated program roadmap across Data, DevOps, and Platform teams.
* Ensure every initiative ladders up to a measurable business outcome.
* Partner with engineering leads to sequence work, balance capacity, and manage cross-squad dependencies.
### **Multi-Project Coordination & Delivery Governance:**
* Govern delivery across concurrent projects using NXP's project management methodology.
* Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and cross-team ceremonies to keep squads unblocked.
* Run delivery governance — status cadences, milestone tracking, RAID logs, and steering reviews.
* Track program KPIs — predictability, milestone adherence, throughput, and quality.
### **Intake Coordination & Demand Management:**
* Own intake for new demand — capturing, triaging, and prioritizing requests into the backlog.
* Coordinate the request desk, ensuring work is assessed, sized, and routed to the right team.
* Translate business requirements (BRD) into epics and user stories with engineering leads.
### **Financial & Resource Management:**
* Own program financials — budget planning, tracking, forecasting, and variance management.
* Manage resource allocation and capacity planning and support headcount/vendor planning.
### **Risk & Stakeholder Management:**
* Identify, assess, and mitigate risks and issues across all workstreams.
* Manage stakeholders across the program lifecycle, communicating progress, trade-offs, and decisions.
* Provide regular, executive-ready reports and dashboards to senior management.
### **What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months):**
* In your first 6–12 months, you'll establish a clear program governance framework, stand up a reliable intake and prioritization process, improve delivery predictability across squads, and give leadership clear visibility into progress, risks, and spend.
**Required Qualifications:**
----------------------------
* Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or an MBA.
* 8+ years in project/program management, including multiple concurrent projects and teams.
* Proven experience with Agile delivery and sprint planning in a software/data engineering environment.
* Strong track record in delivery governance — status reporting, milestone tracking, and steering forums.
* Hands-on experience with intake coordination and demand management for engineering teams.
* Experience with program financials — budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking.
* Strong risk management, stakeholder management, and executive communication skills.
* Certified project/program management credential (PMP, Prince2, SAFe etc) is preferred.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
-----------------------------
* Experience managing catalog-based intake or a service catalog for engineering demand.
* Experience running a request desk / demand management function.
* Ability to translate BRDs into epics and user stories (BRD → Story).
* Familiarity with Data & AI, Databricks, cloud platforms, or DevOps delivery contexts.
* Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or ServiceNow.
* Background in semiconductor, manufacturing, or large-scale enterprise IT environments is preferred.
**Competencies:**
-----------------
* Outcome orientation — focuses on delivering business outcomes, not just activity.
* Orchestration — coordinates teams, priorities, and dependencies with clarity and calm.
* Governance discipline — brings structure, cadence, and transparency to complex delivery.
* Stakeholder influence — drives alignment across engineering and business without direct authority.
* Clear communication — translates between technical detail and executive messaging.
