QA Engineer

**Job Summary** The Painting QA is responsible for inspecting and verifying painting and coating activities to ensure they meet quality standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements. This role requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in painting, strong knowledge of surface preparation, and the ability to identify defects and ensure consistent finish quality. **Key Responsibilities** * Inspect surface preparation activities before painting to ensure compliance with requirements * Involve in customer offering of painted job as per client approved ITP. * Verify paint application quality, including thickness, coverage, adhesion, and finish * Check for surface defects such as rust, contamination, uneven coating, runs, blisters, or peeling * Ensure painting work follows approved standards, work instructions, and customer specifications * Conduct in-process and final quality inspections of painted components or structures * **Monitor Ambient conditions** once in 4 hours. * Document inspection results and report non-conformities or defects * Coordinate with painters, supervisors, and production teams to resolve quality issues * Verify the use of correct materials, tools, and coating systems * Support corrective and preventive actions for painting-related quality concerns * Maintain inspection records and quality documentation as required **Required Qualifications** * Bachelor’s in engineering * Minimum **3 - 4 years of experience in painting related fields.** * Strong knowledge of **surface preparation techniques** * Experience in painting quality inspection or coating inspection * Ability to identify paint and coating defects * Understanding of painting standards, procedures, and inspection criteria * Good attention to detail and documentation skills * Ability to read and follow technical instructions and quality requirements **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience in manufacturing production or manufacturing painting QA * Knowledge of coating thickness measurement, Surface profile measurement, adhesion testing and inspection methods * Understanding of safety practices related to painting and chemical handling * NACE 1 / BGAS Grade 2 will be an added advantage **Key Skills** * Painting inspection * Surface preparation knowledge * Quality control * Defect identification * Documentation and reporting * Communication * Attention to detail
