Co‑op participants contribute to meaningful projects and day‑to‑day business activities while developing professional skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of real‑world organizational operations. **Job Description** Role Overview The Co‑op (All) position supports assigned teams, projects, and operational activities within a specific function or department. Responsibilities are tailored to the student’s academic background, skills, and learning objectives. Co‑ops are expected to apply classroom knowledge to practical assignments, follow established procedures, and collaborate effectively with team members. This role operates under close supervision and may rotate through different tasks or projects depending on departmental needs and the duration of the assignment. Key Responsibilities Project & Operational Support Assist with assigned projects, tasks, or initiatives within the sponsoring department Perform analytical, technical, administrative, or operational work aligned to academic discipline Support day‑to‑day activities that contribute to team and business objectives Learning & Skill Development Apply academic knowledge to real‑world business or technical challenges Develop professional skills such as communication, time management, and teamwork Learn organizational systems, tools, and processes relevant to the role Data, Documentation & Reporting Collect, organize, and analyze data as assigned Prepare basic reports, presentations, or documentation Maintain accurate records and follow documentation standards Collaboration & Communication Work closely with supervisors, mentors, and team members Participate in meetings, training sessions, and reviews Communicate progress, challenges, and results clearly and professionally Safety, Compliance & Professional Conduct Follow all company policies, safety requirements, and confidentiality standards Adhere to ethical and professional workplace expectations Complete required training and onboarding activities Qualifications Education & Eligibility Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university Pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business, Finance, IT, Supply Chain, HR, Marketing, Manufacturing, or related discipline) Eligibility for cooperative education participation through academic institution Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong interest in gaining practical work experience Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions Basic analytical, technical, or administrative skills appropriate to field of study Effective written and verbal communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Assignment Details Assignment length and schedule vary by department and academic program Work may be full‑time or part‑time depending on program structure Specific duties, learning objectives, and deliverables defined at assignment start **Additional Job Details** **Perform **inspections and tear-down analysis** of compressor components and assemblies** **Use **measurement tools** (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify dimensional compliance** **Support **functional testing** of compressors, motors, and condensing units (e.g., pressure, leakage, performance checks)** **Identify and document **defects or non-conformities** in rejected parts** **Work directly with quality team to **analyze quality issues**** **Assist in **root cause analysis** (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone) for identified defects** **Participate in **rework and sorting activities**, ensuring proper implementation** **Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action at Nidec** Nidec is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
