Radiography Technologist 3000 Radiology General **Schedule:** Night shift. 36 hours. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 1730-6a. On call rotation. **About the Position** The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. **Overview of Responsibilities** * Competently operates radiographic equipment * Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures * Obtains patient history and symptoms * Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders * Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served * Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures * Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families * Accurately performs appropriate documentation * Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines * Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring * Appropriately uses radiation protection devices * Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities * Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students This list of duties and responsibilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities that management deems necessary. **Education & E****xperience** * Graduate of an approved, 24-month program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) * Additional radiology education would be nice to have. * educational program would be nice to have. * A minimum of 2 years in an accredited educational program * Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the **Licensure & Certification** * Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health * Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT. * Current in BLS certification.
