This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of UPMC-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers. In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.      Job Requirements  **Education**   * High School Diploma required   * Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required   **Work Experience**   * Experience in a clinical setting preferred   **Required Licenses/Certifications**   * Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).   * American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.   * State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).   **Essential Functions**   * Responsible for x-ray services as needed   * Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x-ray services for patients by applying x-ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly.   * Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.   * May need to push patient in a wheelchair      **Patient Preparation and Rooming**   * Inform technical staff of patient flow.   * Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit.  * Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and escalate critical cases to the provider as needed.   * Conduct point of care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG); and provide patient information to providers.   **Administrative**   * Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files.   * Conduct courtesy call-backs for patient follow-up on care   * Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed   Other responsibilities include:    * **Medical Team Support**: Collaborate with the ordering/treating Provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnoses and treatment. Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.    * **Patient Care:** Explaining procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answering their questions.    * **Patient Positioning:** Accurately positioning patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.    * **Image Production:** Selecting proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high-quality diagnostic images   * **Equipment Maintenance:** Performing routine maintenance, cleaning of X-ray equipment, and managing necessary supplies.    * **Radiation Safety:** Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and implementing ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) to minimize exposure to patients and staff.    * **Documentation:** Maintaining accurate patient records and logging of completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.    * **Image Management:** Verifying image quality and ensuring images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.    **Knowledge:**   1\. Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.   2\. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics   and patient movement.   3\. Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.   **Skills:**   1\. Positioning patients properly for the X-ray procedure required.   2. Identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.   3\.
