**Summary** **Job Description:** **Medical ICU**  **Unit Description:**  2A ICU is a 21-bed medical/surgical ICU serving high acuity medical ICU patients. The unit population is cardiac interventions, SARS, Cardiogenic shock, Rotoprone, Post-partum critical care patients and complex care ICU patients most of which have a medical or cardiac diagnosis.  **Shift:** Full Time, Nights  **Job Description:**    * The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.   * The Registered Nurse (RN) is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness.    * As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.   **Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:**   * Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.   * Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.   * Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.   * Basic life support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.  * ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.  **Benefits:**   * Health, Vision, Dental and Pet Insurance  * Life Insurance  * Short Term and Long-Term Disability and Life Insurance  * Identity Theft Protection  * Tuition Reimbursement up to $6,000 annually   * Company paid Maternity and Paternity Leave   * 5 days of Paid Time Off available upon hire   * Bereavement Leave (includes pets)   * PTO Sell Back Program   * Compassionate Leave Sharing Program (PTO Donation)  * Employee Support Fund, for employees in need of emergency financial support   * Retirement with Company Match  ### _If you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!_ ### Baptist Health is an _Equal Employment Opportunity_ employer.
