The **Research Specialist II** compiles and reviews data and metadata and computes projections and performs analysis and tests.
**What you need to know**
**Salary:** Will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.
**Location/Schedule:** Bryan, TX/Part-Time; May have to work on weekends and/or after normal hours.

**Responsibilities:
Research:**
* Compiles and reviews data and metadata.
* Collects samples and measurements for experiments.
* Implements and maintains data collection and summarization of field trials.
* Computes projections.
* Performs analysis and tests.
* Makes and records observations and scientific measurements.
* Assists in auditing protocols.
**Research Publications:**
* Utilizes summarized results in scientific and/or clientele-oriented publications.
* Prepares and writes proposals to funding agencies and maintains financial accounts related to research projects.
**Training:**
* Trains undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical or field staff involved in research.
* Develops and maintains training materials for external users.
**Required Education and Experience:**
* Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Six years of related experience in a specialized and relevant field of research.
**Required Licenses and Certifications:**
* May vary with research area.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* High level experience in confocal imaging and designing experiments for high-throughput screening and other fluorophore analysis
* Master’s degree in a relevant field
* Ability to use Elements software and/or coding to design new analysis recipe.
* Experience in developing imaging methods for high-throughout screening.
* Ability to troubleshoot issues with imaging instrumentation and data capture and analysis.
* Ability to add new technologies to address the research question.
* Experience with imaging with the ability to design sophisticated FRET, 3D multimodal analysis using variety of software.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**
* Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.
* Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software.
* Attention to detail.
