**Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.** **Job Summary** Performs duties necessary to treat patients in accordance with the physicians’ orders and department policy. Performs all procedures under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist. Job duties will be assigned based on student's clinical progression and competency validation. **Essential Functions** * All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose:  Inspire health.  Serve with compassion.  Be the difference. * Performs respiratory therapy procedures in accordance with the physician’s order, departmental policy, and the Respiratory Care Guidelines (RT Consult). May not take verbal orders or modify orders. * Documents and charges for respiratory care procedures and provides patient and family education. * Communicates well with supervisors, therapists and technicians.  Provides a complete and accurate report * May perform blood gasses from all sites.  Analyzes and reports results. * Adheres to infection control and quality initiatives.  Performs appropriate cleaning/disinfection of equipment between patients as indicated by equipment type and isolation status. * Performs other duties as assigned. ****Supervisory/Management Responsibilities**** * This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive. ****Minimum Requirements**** * Education - Currently enrolled in an approved school for respiratory care; OR new/recent graduates of a school of respiratory care who are awaiting credentialing. * Experience - No experience required. **In Lieu Of** * NA ****Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses**** * BLS **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** * NA **Work Shift** Variable (United States of America) **Location** Blount Memorial Hospital **Facility** 8001 Blount Memorial Hospital, Inc. **Department** 80017135 Respiratory Care Services Share your talent with us!
