GTI is a contract manufacturing partner supporting customers in renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and industrial systems.   We fabricate custom designed, purpose-built enclosures and skids for our customers and perform mechanical and electrical integration in-house, delivering a true turn-key product to our customers. Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.   GTI Values: Safey I Quality I Customer Obsession I Speed I Agility  GTI is seeking a proactive and hands-on Safety Specialist to support daily Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) operations within our manufacturing facilities. This role partners closely with Operations, Manufacturing Leadership, Human Resources, and employees to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and industry best practices while promoting a strong culture of safety throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is highly visible on the production floor, comfortable working alongside manufacturing teams, and passionate about coaching employees, identifying hazards before incidents occur, and driving continuous safety improvement. Responsibilities Safety Compliance & Risk Management • Support implementation and continuous improvement of GTI's Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs. • Ensure compliance with OSHA, state, local, and company safety regulations. • Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments throughout manufacturing, warehouse, and office environments. • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors while partnering with leadership to implement effective corrective actions. • Track corrective actions to completion and verify effectiveness. Training & Employee Engagement • Coordinate and facilitate new hire safety orientation. • Deliver ongoing safety training including hazard communication, PPE, lockout/tagout (LOTO), forklift safety, confined space awareness, hot work, ergonomics, fall protection, and other required programs. • Assist with development and maintenance of annual safety training plans. • Promote employee engagement through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness campaigns. • Coach supervisors and employees on safe work practices and regulatory requirements. Incident Investigation • Respond to workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses. • Conduct thorough incident investigations to determine root causes. • Develop corrective and preventive actions to reduce future risk. • Maintain accurate OSHA logs, incident documentation, and investigation records. • Assist with workers' compensation documentation and Return-to-Work coordination as needed. Manufacturing Floor Support • Spend significant time on the production floor supporting fabrication, welding, paint, electrical integration, mechanical assembly, logistics, and warehouse operations. • Partner with production leadership to integrate safety into daily manufacturing activities. • Evaluate new processes, equipment, and workstations for potential hazards. • Support implementation of engineering and administrative controls to reduce workplace risk. Safety Programs & Continuous Improvement • Maintain safety documentation, procedures, inspections, and compliance records. • Assist with emergency preparedness planning, evacuation drills, and emergency response procedures. • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing injuries, improving safety performance, and strengthening employee engagement. • Track and report key safety metrics, trends, and corrective actions. Required Qualifications • 3-5 years of Environmental, Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing, industrial, fabrication, or production environment. • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and occupational safety standards. • Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analysis. • Strong understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment methodologies. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. • Comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment, including welding, fabrication, electrical assembly, paint, and warehouse operations. Preferred Qualifications • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field. • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training. • Experience supporting high-mix, low-volume or engineered-to-order manufacturing environments. • Experience with fabrication, welding, electrical assembly, mechanical assembly, or industrial manufacturing operations. • Experience supporting workers' compensation and Return-to-Work programs. • Forklift certification (or ability to become certified). • Knowledge of lithium-ion battery manufacturing, energy storage systems (BESS), modular data centers, or electrical equipment manufacturing. • First Aid, CPR, AED, or Emergency Response certifications are a plus, but not required.
