Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. **What You'll Be Doing** * Scale loose rock from underground mine walls and ceilings to maintain safe working conditions * Operate scaling equipment and tools safely and efficiently in confined spaces * Conduct routine inspections of work areas to identify and address potential hazards * Perform basic equipment checks and communicate maintenance needs * Collaborate with team members to support safe and productive quarry operations **What Are We Looking For** * Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively in underground environments * Strong safety mindset with the capability to recognize and mitigate hazards * Ability to follow procedures, communicate clearly, and work as part of a team * Mechanical aptitude and comfort performing basic equipment inspections * Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently in physically demanding conditions **Conditions of Employment** * Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check * Some positions require FMCSA regulated ongoing drug and alcohol testing **Work Environment** * Role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level **What We Offer** * $28.76 per hour plus an additional $0.50 per hour underground rate * Benefits through the Union for Medical, Dental, Vision and Pension * Union paid vacation, sick leave and holidays Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Veteran / Disabled
