Security Officer Freestanding Emergency Department

**Summary** **Job Description:** **Be part of something new! Baptist Health Hardin is seeking Security Officers to join the team of our new Freestanding Emergency Department in Radcliff that is opening in Fall 2026.** **We are currently hiring for part-time day shift (7:30am – 8pm) and night shift (7:30pm – 8:00am) positions, offering convenient 12-hour schedules.** **Responsibilities:** * Maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the facility and surrounding grounds. * Conduct routine patrols of the building, parking areas, and campus. * Monitor and operate the facility's weapon detection system and respond appropriately to alarms. * Report out-of-the-ordinary or suspicious activity occurring in or around the facility. * Respond promptly to security, safety, and medical emergencies. * De-escalate conflicts using effective communication and sound judgment. * Conduct investigations and complete detailed incident and security reports. * Provide security escorts for patients, visitors, and employees as needed. * Assist with visitor screening and facility access. * Collaborate with hospital leadership, Emergency Department staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders when appropriate. * Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, families, visitors, physicians, and fellow employees while maintaining a professional and approachable presence. **Requirements:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * Valid Kentucky driver's license with a satisfactory driving record as defined by Baptist Health Hardin policy. * Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. * Basic computer proficiency. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a professional appearance and demeanor. * Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions in emergency situations. * Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods. **Preferred Qualifications:** * Previous experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, military service, or a related security field. * International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) certification preferred. **Benefits:** * ​Tuition Assistance reimbursement program  * Paid Time Off available for use upon hire  * Company paid Maternity and Paternity Leave * Bereavement Leave (includes pets)  * Employee Assistance Program * Retirement plans with company match **If you're passionate about safety, service, and making a difference, we invite you to apply and become part of our opening team this fall!** ### _If you would like to be part of a growing family focused on supporting clinical excellence, teamwork and innovation, we urge you to apply now!_ ### Baptist Health is an _Equal Employment Opportunity_ employer.
