Senior Backend Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong systems thinking and depth in building scalable, production-grade infrastructure. If you're energized by owning complex backend systems, making tradeoffs explicit, and thriving in high-autonomy environments, this role is for you #### What You'll Do * Design, build, and scale core backend services and our integration APIs (Laravel PHP) that power our platform * Take end-to-end ownership of backend technical solutions, from system design and development through deployment, monitoring, and operational excellence * Collaborate directly with product, frontend engineers, and other backend engineers to translate business requirements into robust, maintainable systems * Lead with a "think like an owner" mindset, challenge requirements, suggest improvements, and help prioritize work that delivers real value and sustainability * Help shape our technical direction as we scale our platform’s maturity, where you'll influence architecture decisions." * Participate in and elevate our engineering culture through code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentorship of other engineers * Work with the team to adopt new technologies and improve existing technology usage across the backend #### Tech Stack Backend: PHP (Laravel) Cloud Infrastructure: Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Kubernetes Databases: SQL/NoSQL, data modeling, query optimization Other Tools: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, REST APIs, Pub/Sub event-driven architecture
