Drive continuous improvement.** Mitsubishi Chemical America is seeking a **Senior Manager, Accounting** to join our Finance organization. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of the month-end close, partnering with business leaders, and helping drive sound financial decisions across a diverse manufacturing organization. Supporting multiple manufacturing sites across the United States, as well as operations in Michigan and Brazil, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting while identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency. What You'll Do -------------- As the Senior Manager, Accounting, you'll serve as a trusted financial partner responsible for the accounting and reporting activities supporting approximately $120 million in annual P&L and an $80 million balance sheet across four business divisions. Your responsibilities will include: * Lead the monthly financial close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. * Prepare and submit monthly reporting packages while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements. * Analyze financial results and explain variances against budgets and forecasts, providing meaningful insights to business leaders. * Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company accounting policies. * Prepare annual tax reporting packages and support both internal and external audits. * Maintain and strengthen internal controls throughout the organization. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and leverage SAP to automate manual tasks and increase reporting efficiency. * Prepare both recurring and ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic business decisions. * Manage the company's Travel & Expense (Concur) and corporate card programs. * Partner with leadership across multiple business units, serving as a trusted advisor on accounting and financial matters. What We're Looking For ---------------------- We're looking for an accounting leader who enjoys balancing technical accounting with business partnership and continuous improvement. Qualified candidates will have: * Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required (CPA highly preferred). * 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment. * Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting. * Knowledge of IFRS and internal controls. * Experience with SAP or another large ERP system. * Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across the organization. * The ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. * A commitment to accuracy, integrity, professionalism, and continuous improvement. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
