**Job purpose**
* Lead and shape medical strategy and plan for product and therapeutic area.
* Provide strategic medical input into brand strategy, lifecycle management, and portfolio discussions.
* Represent the Japan medical perspective in global and regional discussions.
* Lead evidence generation, publication, and key scientific activities.
* Provide medical leadership across cross-functional teams and support capability development within Medical Affairs.
**Responsibilities**
* Develop and maintain strategic relationships with KOLs, scientific experts, and other relevant external stakeholders.
* Lead the development and execution of medical strategy and medical activities.
* Provide strategic medical input into launch and lifecycle management plans.
* Identify evidence gaps and lead evidence generation and publication activities.
* Lead advisory boards, scientific meetings, and other key medical programs.
* Provide medical expertise for marketed products, pipeline assets, and value/access-related activities.
* Synthesize scientific evidence and external insights to inform medical and cross-functional decision-making.
* Lead cross-functional initiatives and influence relevant internal and external stakeholders.
* Mentor and guide medical colleagues as appropriate.
* Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with Amgen policies, compliance, regulations, and ethical standards.

**Basic Qualifications:**
* Advanced degree in life sciences or relevant area, or equivalent education and professional experience.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, or a related pharmaceutical function.
* Strong scientific and medical expertise.
* Demonstrated ability to lead medical strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Proficiency in Japanese and English.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience in Medical Affairs, clinical research, RWD/RWE, and evidence generation.
* Expertise in rare disease or relevant therapeutic areas.
* Experience in product lifecycle management and collaboration with global/regional teams.
* Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
