Senior Node Js Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Node.js Engineer (AWS Serverless) to join the team supporting a well-established UK-based e-commerce retailer operating across the US, UK, and APAC markets under 16+ partner brands. The client runs a high-volume, subscription-driven commerce platform with complex multi-market business logic and is currently midway through a major platform modernisation initiative — transitioning from a legacy monolithic system to a modern MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless). As part of the engineering team, you will contribute to building scalable cloud-native services and modern backend solutions using Node.js and AWS Serverless technologies, helping drive the next generation of the client’s global commerce platform. Responsibilities: • Build AWS Lambda microservices (Node.js/TypeScript) behind API Gateway, integrated with Commerce Tools and D365. • Design and optimise DynamoDB data models and access patterns for high-throughput e-commerce. • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure automation. • Support knowledge transfer to client engineers on AWS serverless best practices. • Delegate multi-step tasks to AI agents; review diffs, verify output, and maintain accountability for what gets committed.
