**Sr. Software Engineer – Finance Technology**  **ABOUT THE POSITION**  Although we’re an apparel and footwear-focused company, technology is central to everything we do. These teams support across a range of platforms and services to enhance the consumer experience in an ever-evolving industry.  As a Senior Software Engineer – Finance Technology at Columbia, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of custom SAP solutions within Finance and Controlling (FICO) and related enterprise finance capabilities. Your expertise in ABAP programming, SAP ECC AFS, and SAP S/4HANA will contribute to enhancing our systems and processes, supporting our S/4 transformation, and enabling long-term, scalable finance technology operations.  **HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT**  * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business requirements for SAP FICO, SAP ECC AFS, and SAP S/4HANA module enhancements, customizations, and transformation-related capabilities.  * Design, develop, and test high-quality ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, forms, enhancements, and integration components to optimize system performance and ensure seamless end-to-end finance processes.  * Create and modify SAP FICO module functionalities, including custom enhancements, user exits, interfaces, and extensions that support current ECC AFS operations and future-state S/4HANA design.  * Troubleshoot and debug existing ABAP programs, identify issues, and implement effective solutions across SAP ECC AFS, S/4HANA, and connected finance platforms.  * Work closely with SAP functional consultants, analysts, architects, integration teams, and product owners to translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop appropriate technical solutions.  * Participate in system upgrades, migrations, S/4 transformation workstreams, and integration projects, ensuring compatibility, code quality, performance, and adherence to SAP best practices.  * Support technical readiness for S/4HANA by assessing custom code, data dependencies, interfaces, reports, and enhancements for remediation, simplification, or future-state support.  * Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers, sharing expertise in ABAP programming, SAP FICO, ECC AFS support, and emerging S/4HANA development patterns.  * Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to continuously improve SAP solutions and support Columbia’s long-term finance technology roadmap.  **YOU ARE**  * Able to effectively conduct technical discussions directly with stakeholders, product owners, functional analysts, architects, and scrum teams.  * Exceptional at attention to detail, especially when connecting current-state ECC AFS logic to future-state S/4HANA design and support needs.  * Able to prioritize and complete multiple projects at once, balancing operational support, enhancements, and transformation deliverables.  * A good communicator, both verbally and written, with the ability to explain technical options, risks, and tradeoffs in clear business terms.  * A team player able to work effectively with a large, cross-functional, globally dispersed team.  **YOU HAVE**  * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field—or equivalent experience.  * Minimum of 5 years of experience as an ABAP Programmer with a focus on SAP FICO modules and enterprise finance processes.  * Proficiency in ABAP programming language, SAP development tools, debugging, performance tuning, and technical design documentation.  * Strong understanding of SAP FICO module functionalities, including customization, enhancement, integration, and support across SAP ECC AFS and SAP S/4HANA environments.  * Experience with SAP data models, master data, financial processes, interfaces, reports, and custom objects, with exposure to S/4HANA simplification or migration considerations preferred.  * Proven track record of successfully delivering ABAP solutions for complex business requirements in finance technology or ERP environments.  * Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently across SAP and integrated enterprise platforms.  * Effective communication and collaboration skills, both written and verbal.  * SAP certification in ABAP programming, S/4HANA development, or relevant SAP modules is a plus.  _This job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities, but constitutes a general definition of the position's scope and function in the company._
