We're seeking an experienced **Sr Software Engineer** to join our **Sustenance Engineering team**, specializing in troubleshooting complex product issues, debugging application code, delivering permanent fixes, handling escalated support cases, and performing root cause analysis.  The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in **Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Linux, Oracle, Cybersecurity, Networking, Kafka, and L3 Support**, along with an interest in **AI-assisted engineering, MCP tools, and agentic automation**.  **Key Responsibilities:**  * Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer and application issues across the software stack.  * Handle escalated  support cases , providing advanced troubleshooting, workarounds, and permanent resolutions.  * Debug application code, identify defects, provide code fixes, and address the root causes of issues.  * Design, develop, test, and implement solutions to improve application performance, reliability, security, networking, and data-streaming capabilities.  * Conduct thorough **Root Cause Analysis (RCA)** and implement corrective and preventive actions.  * Troubleshoot Java/Spring Boot applications, microservices, REST APIs, Oracle databases, Linux environments, and Kafka-based integrations.  * Troubleshoot Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, brokers, offsets, consumer groups, and consumer lag.  * Analyze application logs, stack traces, system metrics, database queries, and network traces to identify issues.  * Develop and maintain technical documentation, RCA reports, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge-base articles.  * Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to software development, security, networking, Kafka, and L3 support best practices.  * Collaborate with Engineering, L2/L3 Support, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Network Operations, Cloud, and Data Engineering teams to resolve complex issues.  * Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for troubleshooting, diagnostics, maintenance, Kafka operations, and L3 support activities.  * Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve debugging, development, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting efficiency.  **Qualifications:**  * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.  * At least **4+ years of experience** in software development, application troubleshooting, debugging, and L3/Sustenance Engineering.  * Experience working with **SaaS, cloud, enterprise, or platform products** is preferred.  * Strong expertise in:  * **Java and Spring Boot**  * **Microservices and REST APIs**  * **Linux operating systems**  * **Oracle databases and SQL**  * **Apache Kafka and data-streaming concepts**  * **Cybersecurity principles and practices**  * **Networking fundamentals – TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, firewalls, proxies, VPNs**  * **L3/Sustenance – troubleshooting, debugging, RCA, and problem management**  * Strong understanding of Kafka data streaming, including **producers, consumers, topics, partitions, brokers, offsets, and consumer groups**.  * Excellent problem-solving, debugging, analytical, and root cause analysis skills.  * Effective communication and collaboration skills.  * Strong understanding of **SDLC, Agile methodologies, distributed systems, microservices, data-streaming architectures, and L3/Sustenance Engineering processes**.  **Preferred Qualifications:**  * Experience working on **SaaS, cloud security, or enterprise platform products**.  * Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools such as **GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code**, or similar tools.  * Familiarity with **MCP integrations, AI agents, agent orchestration, RAG pipelines, AI-powered developer tooling, and LLM-based automation**.  * Experience with **Kafka data streaming**, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, and brokers.  * Experience with automation tools and scripting languages such as **Python and Bash**.  * Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., **CompTIA Security+, CISSP**), networking (e.g., **CCNA, CCNP**), software development (e.g., **Oracle Certified Java Programmer**), or data streaming (e.g., **Confluent Certified Kafka Developer**) are a plus.  * Experience with cloud platforms such as **AWS or Azure**, network virtualization (e.g., **VMware NSX**), software-defined networking (SDN), or data-streaming technologies such as **Apache Storm or Apache Flink**.  * Experience with L3/Sustenance support tools such as **ServiceNow or JIRA Service Management**.  * Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools such as **Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes**.  * Familiarity with application monitoring, observability, logging, and APM tools.
