Job Description

About the Position: This is a Military Technician position with the 63rd Readiness Division, Equipment Concentration Site 170, Fort Hunter Liggett, California. This position requires an active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before a start date can be set. To learn more about minimum qualifications to join the Army Reserve, visit http://www.goarmy.com/reserve/jobs.html Major Duties: - List repairs on appropriate forms to indicate needed repairs. - Prepare reports on recurring equipment failures - Document inventory to maintain accountability of weapons. - Inspect small arms to determine serviceability and condition of repairs necessary. - Disassemble weapons to diagnose malfunctions - Repair small weapons by replacing obsolete parts and/or assemblies. - Observe rules and regulations to ensure all safety and physical security standards are followed. - Analyze unit deficiencies to determine required organizational training. - Conduct operational checks and final inspections to ensure maintenance has been completed. - Suggest corrective actions in accordance with unit policies and procedures - Use hand tools to make repairs and adjustments. - Utilize measuring instruments to determine when parts are worn or damaged. - Performs two level Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) to include periodic gauging.
