Evernorth Health Services is the pharmacy, care and benefits solution division of The Cigna Group. **Role Title - Software Engineering Manager**   **Position Overview** We are seeking a **Software Engineering Manager** to lead engineering delivery for a **mission-critical Contact Center technology platform**, with a primary focus on **platform engineering (ReactJS + Java/Spring Boot + microservices)** and **equal depth in AI/GenAI engineering (Python + LLMs)**. The platform is built with **ReactJS (UI)** and **Java/Spring Boot (backend)** and supports a highly integrated enterprise ecosystem. Alongside platform modernization and production stability, this role will design and deliver **GenAI capabilities** such as **agent assist, summarization, knowledge retrieval, and workflow automation** using **LLMs, RAG, and agentic orchestration frameworks**. This role includes **people leadership for a small team** while remaining **hands-on** in architecture, code quality, and production issue resolution. **Responsibilities** **Platform Engineering** Lead design and delivery of **enterprise-grade UI and backend services** using **ReactJS** and **Java/Spring Boot**.Drive **microservices architecture**, API design, and integration patterns across a complex enterprise ecosystem.Own end-to-end delivery across SDLC: **requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support**.Establish and enforce engineering best practices for **code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps**.Optimize system performance for **high-volume, real-time, latency-sensitive workflows**.  **GenAI / AI Engineering** Design and build **LLM-powered applications** using **Python** for enterprise use cases (e.g., agent assist, summarization, knowledge retrieval, workflow automation).Implement **RAG solutions** (embeddings + retrieval + vector search) tuned for relevance, latency, and reliability.Build **agentic workflows** and tool-using patterns using frameworks such as **LangChain / LangGraph** (or equivalent orchestration approaches).Define and drive AI quality practices including **evaluation, monitoring signals, accuracy tuning, and continuous improvement loops**.Support **LLM stack upgrades** and AI platform evolution aligned to roadmap and operational requirements.Integrate GenAI services into platform workflows via well-designed **APIs**, service interfaces, and security/compliance-aligned patterns.  **Production Reliability & Operational Excellence** Own production stability for both platform and AI components; lead **incident triage, root cause analysis, and preventative fixes**.Drive observability improvements across systems: **monitoring, logging, alerting**, and reliability metrics for critical workflows.Ensure operational readiness for releases, peak events, and production rollouts.  **People Leadership** Manage, mentor, and develop engineers through coaching, feedback, and technical guidance.Build a culture of **ownership, accountability, and engineering excellence**.Support hiring and onboarding for blended **platform + GenAI** talent.  **Qualifications** **Education:** · Any bachelor’s degree **Experience:** * 11 - 13+ years of software engineering experience with **2-4+ years** in a technical lead or engineering manager role. * Proven experience delivering **large-scale distributed systems** and owning production outcomes. * Strong experience working in **Agile/Scrum** delivery models.  **Required Technical Skills — Platform** Strong experience with: **Java, Spring Boot**, REST APIs, microservices**ReactJS** (or modern UI frameworks) and UI integration patterns  Working knowledge of: **Cloud (AWS/**Azure**)** and **OpenShift/Kubernetes****CI/CD and DevOps** practicesPerformance tuning and operational readiness for enterprise systems  **Required Technical Skills — GenAI** Strong hands-on experience with: **Python** for production services**LLMs**, prompt engineering, embeddings, and retrieval patterns**RAG architectures** and vector database concepts**Agentic orchestration** (LangChain/LangGraph or equivalent)  Experience operationalizing AI systems with focus on: **Reliability, monitoring, evaluation, and continuous improvement**  **Leadership & Collaboration** Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to translate requirements into technical execution.Comfortable providing hands-on technical leadership during design reviews and production scenarios.  **Preferred Qualifications** Experience in Healthcare or **Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) domain**Experience with Contact Center platforms, agent workflows, or CRM-integrated systems.Experience delivering AI-powered enterprise features (agent assist, summarization, knowledge systems, workflow automation).Certifications in **Cloud, Kubernetes, or Agile** are a plus. **Work Hours:** ·        11.30AM IST to 8.30PM IST **Equal Opportunity Statement:** _Evernorth is an Equal Opportunity Employer actively encouraging and supporting organization-wide involvement of staff in diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to educate, inform and advance both internal practices and external work with diverse client populations._ **About Evernorth Health Services** Evernorth Health Services, a division of The Cigna Group, creates pharmacy, care and benefit solutions to improve health and increase vitality.
