**Special Education Teacher | Olympia, WA | 2026–2027 School Year**
Ampersand Therapy is hiring a **Special Education Teacher** for a contract position with a school district in **Olympia, Washington**, for the 2026–2027 school year. This is an in-person position beginning September 3, 2026.

**Responsibilities:**
* Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
* Provide specially designed instruction based on students’ individual learning needs
* Create measurable academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional goals
* Adapt curriculum, instruction, and classroom materials to support student access and participation
* Use differentiated and evidence-based teaching strategies
* Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and guide instruction
* Complete evaluations, progress reports, IEP documentation, and other required records
* Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and multidisciplinary team planning
* Collaborate with general education teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
* Support students in developing academic, communication, social, behavioral, and independent-living skills
* Implement behavior support plans and positive classroom-management strategies as appropriate
* Maintain a safe, structured, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Ensure services comply with state, federal, and district requirements
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field
* Valid Washington State teaching certificate with an appropriate Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one
* Must have current fingerprints on file with OSPI or be willing to complete the fingerprinting process
* Previous special education or school-based teaching experience preferred
* Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, differentiated instruction, and positive behavior supports
* Strong communication, documentation, organization, and collaboration skills
