**Job Description** =================== **Spider Management Company Summer Internship Opportunity for UR Partner Institutions ONLY:** _Virginia State University, Hampden-Sydney College, Randolph College, University of Lynchburg, The Citadel, Campbellsville University, Longwood University, PGA First Tee affiliation_ **POSITION SUMMARY:** Spider Management’s (Spider's) internship program is intended to expose a **sophomore student** to a wide range of strategies across the asset management industry. Spider Management Company is the investment office for the University of Richmond and a select group of other non-profit organizations. Spider’s 23-person team is split between Investments, Operations, and Investor Relations. **JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**: This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience across the organization’s three teams.  Projects could include, but are not limited to, research, data collection and analysis on potential investments, report production, database management, compliance, and market analysis.  Candidates will attend team meetings, as well as have the opportunity to attend meetings with external investment managers across asset classes (meetings may be virtual or in-person).  Candidates will also have the opportunity to take on ad-hoc projects to improve the team’s processes and/or explore select topics of interest for the purpose of presenting their findings to the team. **Our intern program offers the following:** * The opportunity to immerse yourself in the daily responsibilities, projects, and initiatives * Collaborate with seasoned professionals * Interact with team members and senior leadership * Gain exposure to various areas of the business * Contribute to evaluations of prospective investment opportunities  **What You Will Learn/Gain During the Internship:** * Basics of endowment and foundation investing * Interact with and learn from world-class investment managers * Fundamentals of asset allocation and portfolio management * Introduction to multiple traditional and alternative investment asset classes * Exposure to investment opportunities in a wide variety of sectors and geographies **QUALIFICATIONS:** * **Fall 2026 Sophomore**, preferably majoring or minoring in Business/Finance or another quantitative discipline * Must have excellent academic credentials * Fully developed quantitative and analytical skills * Proficiency in Microsoft Office products; advanced Excel and/or PowerPoint skills preferred * Strong communication skills, both written and oral * Ability to multi-task and work independently * Detail-oriented and extremely proactive * Self-starter * High level of professionalism and integrity * Cooperative attitude – must be a team player * Interest in investment management industry, particularly non-profit investment management * Must adhere to Spider Management Company’s Code of Ethics policy **REQUIRED:** * Fall 2026 Sophomore Student; Econ and Finance majors strongly preferred * Student attending a UR Partner Institution (see above if your institution is listed) * Resume and cover letter * Copy of Unofficial College Transcript Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5 pm; schedule times may vary. Pay Rate: $20 to $25 an hour. This is an 8 to 10-week part-time, temporary position, mid-May to mid-August 2027.
