Staff Designer Cad

Work Flexibility: Onsite **Staff Designer, CAD** _Portage, MI_ _As a Staff Designer, CAD, you will provide advanced design and digital engineering expertise to support the development of electromechanical medical devices within Stryker's Orthopaedic Instruments business. In this role, you will create, manage, and optimize complex CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation throughout the product development lifecycle._ _Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams, you will translate design requirements into manufacturable solutions that meet performance, quality, and regulatory standards. You will support concept development, prototyping, design verification, and manufacturing readiness activities while helping drive design integrity, data accuracy, and continuous improvement across new product development programs._ **_What You Will Do_** * _Create, modify, and manage complex CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and bills of materials in accordance with engineering specifications._ * _Translate design inputs into manufacturable product designs while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements._ * _Evaluate product designs with cross-functional engineering teams to verify function, durability, manufacturability, and design integrity._ * _Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to ensure adherence to company and industry standards._ * _Support prototype development, design verification activities, testing, and engineering analyses throughout product development._ * _Submit and manage engineering documentation through design control, approval, and change management processes, including engineering change orders._ * _Coordinate cross-functional project activities to support the delivery of mechanical assemblies, prototypes, and product development milestones._ * _Train and mentor team members on CAD methodologies, design documentation practices, and established engineering standards._ **_What You Will Need_** **_Required Qualifications_** * _High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of additional relevant CAD experience, or an Associate Degree with a minimum of 4 years of additional relevant CAD experience, or a Bachelor's Degree._ * _Minimum 4 years of experience using CAD, CAE, or related engineering software._ **_Preferred Qualifications_** * _Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Graphics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline._ * _Experience supporting product development, design verification, or engineering analysis activities._ * _Experience creating and maintaining engineering drawings, assemblies, and product documentation._ * _Experience supporting engineering change management and design control processes._ * $77,700 - $129,500 USD Annual Travel Percentage: 10% Stryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
