Staff Software Development Engineer - Viewer Experience

You’ll own complex projects end to end, operate with autonomy, and play a key role in shaping the architecture and future direction of high-throughput, low-latency systems. If you're passionate about building immersive, intelligent, and performant user experiences that delight a billion users, join us in shaping the future of streaming.   **Key responsibilities:** * Design and build scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems that power JioStar’s tech stack * Own end-to-end delivery of complex backend projects, from technical design to deployment and monitoring * Drive architectural decisions and influence long-term engineering strategy for the team * Build systems with strong observability and monitoring, ensuring system health, uptime, and fast incident response. * Continuously evaluate and adopt relevant technologies. * Take ownership of operational excellence, including performance tuning, incident response, and root cause analysis * Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical deep dives and code reviews, and foster a culture of knowledge sharing **Skills and attributes for success:** * Proficiency in Java, Golang, or Python * Experience designing and building distributed systems at scale * Strong understanding of storage systems, query performance, and caching strategies * Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), messaging systems (Kafka), and CI/CD pipelines * Proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and manage delivery timelines in fast-paced environments * You are passionate about growing engineers and leading by example * Curious about how advertising systems work and how to optimize them for user and business outcomes **Preferred education and experience:** * Bachelors/master's in computer science or a related field with 6-9 years of development experience
