**Work Schedule** Third Shift (Nights) **Environmental Conditions** Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Warehouse, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials, Working at heights **Job Description** This is a Material Handler I role in Storage Control department with the work shift of Monday-Friday, 10:30pm.-7:00am. A Day in the Life: * Receiving, examining, sorting, arranging, counting, storing, picking, and packing items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements. * Preparing and filing routine documentation. * Maintaining quality metrics. * Operating material handling equipment (e.g. hand truck, pallet jack, Forklift etc). * Working in and out of a +4c walk-in Cold Room and -20c walk-in Freezer. **Experience:** * No previous work experience required * Preferred: Experience in distribution, warehouse or supply chain or related field * Preferred: Experience with powered industrial trucks (order pickers) **Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:** * Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively. * Self-motivated, self-starter with strong organizational skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills, successful in partnering with colleagues of differing cultural, language and educational backgrounds. * Demonstrates the Thermo Fisher values (The Four I’s) – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. **Physical Requirements / Work Environment** * Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Close vision and ability to adjust focus required. * Regularly required to lift up to 20 pounds. May be required to lift weight of 45 pounds or more, with assistance and/or with equipment on occasion. **Compensation and Benefits** The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $12.56–$18.84. This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
