### What this Job Entails: The Software Engineer designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for enhancements and new products. They will also develop software and tools in support of design, infrastructure and technology platforms. ### Scope: * Resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways * Seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of their specialty * Works on problems of a diverse scope * Receives little instruction on day to day work, general instruction on new assignments ### Responsibilities * Provide operational support for Java-based applications and services running in production. * Troubleshoot application, server, and infrastructure issues to quickly restore service. * Analyze logs, performance metrics, and system behavior to identify root causes. * Support Linux-based server environments and application infrastructure. * Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to improve operational efficiency. * Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure teams. * Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and production support activities. * Monitor application health, system performance, and availability. * Document operational procedures and troubleshooting guides. * Recommend improvements to system reliability, scalability, and automation. ### Required Qualifications/Skills: * Bachelor’s degree (B.S/B.A) from four-college or university and 5 to 8 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Expert-level experience supporting and troubleshooting Java applications. * Strong knowledge of Linux server administration. * Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements. * Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar. * Proficiency in Python scripting. * Working knowledge of Go (Golang). * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication skills. * Experience working with various development programs * Ability to quickly learn customer support processes, tools and techniques * Understanding of how to configure third-party software components and technologies * Ability to perform root cause analysis of network, operating system, and other issues * Ability to collaborate and work remotely including use of communication tools * Ability to multi-task and self-organize including prioritization of activities * Experience using monitoring systems * Attention to detail ### Nice to have Qualifications * Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. * Kubernetes and Docker experience. * Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or New Relic. * Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines. * Experience with REST APIs and microservices. * Experience with Git and version control. ### Physical Demand & Work Environment: * Must have the ability to perform office-related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing * Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment * Must be able to use a computer * Must have the ability to communicate effectively * Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers ### Salary Range $114,000.00 - $180,000.00 USD (Salary) * _Please note that the salary information provided herein is base pay only (gross); it does not include other forms of compensation which may or may not apply to this specific position, namely, performance-based bonuses, benefits-related payments, or other general incentives - none of which are guaranteed, may be subject to specific eligibility requirements, and are wholly within the discretion of [Astreya](https://himalayas.app/companies/astreya) to remit._ * _Further, the salary information noted above is a range that consists of a minimum and maximum rate of pay for this specific position.
