The role works closely with customers to understand design/advanced node requirements and collaborates with foundry partners to translate those requirements into advanced software solutions. The primary responsibility is the development of early-stage physical design flows, specifically pre-place-and-route (pre PnR) methodology, rather than implementation tools or sign-off tools. **Programming Languages & Tools** * Java (primary; JDK 11 to JDK 25) * Tcl scripting * Linux shell scripting * C++ (minor) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Master's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or a related field. * Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, including but not limited to data structures, algorithms, computational geometry, database theorem, parallel programming, information theory, compiler. * Experience with EDA tools, CAD tools, desktop applications handling large-scale datasets. * Familiarity with early-stage physical design flows, prior to place-and-route. * Experience with software performance optimization, software capacity, and usability design. * Exposure to or experience with forward-deployed AI in engineering workflows is a plus. **Position Requirements:** * Passionate to learn and explore new technologies and demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills. * Self-driven in learning unfamiliar technologies through technical documentation, online communities, and internal knowledge sharing platforms. * Ability to debug program with large legacy codebase. * Knowledgeable of object-oriented programming language, data structures and algorithms. * Knowledgeable of UNIX/Linux environments; familiarity with Windows is also beneficial. * Excellent organization, analytical and presentation skills. * Capability to assess task value, requirements, risks, and trade-offs for effective assignment and execution. * Ability to interact professionally across teams. * Ability to communicate in English. * Ability to work individually without face-to-face working model. **Career Position:** * Software Architect for large-scale data and software infrastructure. * Software Architect in design automation for System-level PPA, design ECO, and early-stage optimization flows. **We’re doing work that matters.
