**Job Title:** Teacher of the Visually Impaired **Pay Range:** $50-60/hour ** Job Description:** **Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Seattle WA | 2026–2027 School Year** Ampersand Therapy is hiring an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the 2026–2027 school year in the Seattle WA area. Job Highlights: * Position: Teacher of the Visually Impaired * Setting: In-person and school-based * Schedule: Full time, approximately 8:00 AM–3:30 PM * Maximum Hours: Up to 40 hours per week * Dates: August 27, 2026–June 19, 2027 * Grade Levels: All grade levels Responsibilities: * Provide specialized instruction to students who are blind or visually impaired * Assess students’ functional vision and learning-media needs * Support instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum * Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs * Adapt instructional materials and recommend appropriate assistive technology * Collaborate with teachers, families, related service providers, and school teams * Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation * Travel between assigned school sites as needed Qualifications: * Valid state teaching credential with an endorsement in visual impairments * Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education, visual impairments, or a related field * Experience working with school-aged students preferred * Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills Benefits & Perks * Paid sick leave * Healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts * 401(k) with employer matching * Reimbursements for licensing, continuing education, and other professional expenses * Mileage reimbursement at the IRS rate for travel between school sites * W-2 employment * General and professional liability insurance * Referral bonuses * Paid volunteer time and donation matching * Access to guidance and resources from experienced school-based professionals * No non-compete agreement Benefits are available for most positions that are 0.8 FTE or higher and may vary depending on the individual contract and district placement.
