**Our vision is to transform how the world uses information and improve life for people everywhere.**
Micron Technology is seeking highly motivated Process and Maintenance Technicians to support wafer fabrication in a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you will monitor and sustain equipment and processes, conduct analysis, and collaborate with Shift Operations, equipment engineers, and tool vendors to improve efficiency, yield, and performance.
As a technician at Micron, you’ll be at the forefront of innovation in memory and storage solutions, demonstrating a high level of dependability and passion. You’ll embody Micron’s core values: People, Innovation, Tenacity, Collaboration, and Customer Focus.
**Process Technician Responsibilities**
* Operate and monitor semiconductor processing equipment; manage up to 25 online manufacturing systems.
* Support wafer process efficiency, quality, and innovation through collaboration with engineering, operations, and other key partners.
* Support engineering and process development teams, helping improve workstation operations and resolve bottlenecks.
* Support problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts; use data analysis to guide process decisions.
* Work in both cleanroom and office environments, adapting to fabrication and data analysis needs.
* Follow safety protocols and perform physical tasks, including standing for long periods, lifting 25–40 lbs, and navigating tight or uneven spaces.
* Communicate clearly and manage tasks independently, using Microsoft Office tools to complete work efficiently.
* Conduct technical tests and experiments for R&D in wafer fabrication; prepare reports and present findings.
**Minimum Qualifications – Process Technician**
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off, then 4 days on/3 days off) and adjust to overtime or shift changes as needed.
* Ability to wear cleanroom garments (about 20% of the time based on department) and occasional PPE such as chemical aprons and face shields.
**Preferred Qualifications – Process Technician**
* Associate degree or equivalent experience, technical certification, military training, or coursework in engineering, science, manufacturing, or related fields.
* Experience following processes, working with data, or supporting operations in cleanroom, laboratory, or manufacturing environments.
* Familiarity with process monitoring, data analysis, or basic statistical concepts (training provided on Micron systems).
**Maintenance Technician Responsibilities**
* Collaborate with team members and vendors to monitor equipment performance, perform preventative maintenance, and proactively address safety and operational issues.
* Support equipment uptime by performing light assembly, using handheld tools, and maintaining cleanroom standards, including housekeeping and material handling.
* Safely perform physically demanding work, including lifting 25–40 lbs, standing for extended periods (up to 10 hours), walking long distances, and navigating confined or uneven spaces.
* Follow all safety protocols when handling gases, chemicals, and hazardous energy, including use of PPE (e.g., cleanroom garments, respirators, face shields) in an accurate manner and alignment with LOTO and CoHE procedures.
* Operate, maintain, and resolve problems in HVAC/R and utility systems, including chillers, compressed air, heating and cooling water, process exhaust, and cleanroom environmental controls.
* Apply working knowledge of electrical systems and codes (NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E), including interpreting one-line diagrams and performing electrical switching.
* Operate and maintain medium- to extra-high-voltage electrical systems (4.16 kV–230 kV), including energizing, de-energizing, isolating, grounding, and restoring power across site distribution systems.
* Manage and support the site electrical distribution infrastructure from utility feeds and substations to building-level systems.
* Respond to alarms, system failures, and outages by delivering safe and efficient restoration activities, including planned and unplanned switching operations with sitewide impact.
**Minimum Qualifications – Maintenance Technician**
* Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Robotics, or a related technical field and/or 2 years of experience maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or equivalent technical military experience.
* Ability to work 12‑hour shifts (3 days on/4 days off and 4 days on/3 days off) and move between day and night shifts every 4 months.
* At least 2 years of experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
* At least 2 years of experience using mechanical, electrical, or software skills to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
**Preferred Qualifications – Equipment Technician**
* 4+ years of experience supporting or maintaining manufacturing equipment, automation, or comparable technical systems.
* 4+ years of experience leading equipment‑related projects with strong alignment to schedule, scope, and budget.
* Experience managing improvements that enhance equipment reliability and operational performance.
