**Sanipac**, a Waste Connections company in **Eugene, OR** has an immediate position open for a **Union** ****D**iesel Mechanic Journeyman** to perform preventative maintenance on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks.

**⭐** **Full‑Time Schedule**

**• 4/10s Schedule:**
**Tuesday–Friday — 1:30 PM to 12:00am**
**• Occasional Overtime Required. Overtime also available**

**💰** **Competitive Compensation**
**Starting at $31.15- $33.97/per hour DOE**
$2.00/hr additional for CDL Holders or after CDL is obtained.

**CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:**
Candidates for employment must meet position requirements and successfully pass post offer employment examinations including:
**• Background Check**
**• MVR Check** (Clean driving record)
**• Drug screen**

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Union Diesel Mechanic Journeyman to perform maintenance and repairs on our fleet of 125 garbage trucks.
* Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
* Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
* Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
* Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
* Performs diagnostics and repairs on engine, aftertreatment, transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems (12V and CAN)
* Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
* Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
* Ability to effectively communicate needed repairs or tasks.

**REQUIREMENTS:**
* **Valid Driver’s License** with a **clean driving record (Required)**
* **3+ year experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair**
* Provide personal tools.
* Class B CDL **OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.**
* Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.
* Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English.

**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:**
* Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
* Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair.
* Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position.
* Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions.
* The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate.
