Job Description
We are seeking a **Bilingual (English/Spanish) Virtual Front Desk / Medical Receptionist** to support a busy U.S.-based **Pain Management and Spine** practice. This is a full-time remote position for a highly organized, patient-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment.
The ideal candidate has experience supporting a U.S. medical practice, is comfortable handling a high volume of patient calls, scheduling appointments, managing electronic medical records, and assisting with insurance-related administrative tasks. Experience with **eClinicalWorks (eCW)** is strongly preferred.
### **Responsibilities:**
* Answer high-volume inbound patient calls professionally and courteously.
* Make outbound calls for appointment confirmations, rescheduling, reminders, and follow-up.
* Schedule, reschedule, and cancel patient appointments while managing multiple provider calendars.
* Register new patients and update demographics, insurance information, and medical records in the EMR.
* Manage and maintain accurate patient records in **eClinicalWorks (eCW)**.
* Verify insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
* Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and other insurance-related administrative tasks as needed.
* Route messages, prescription refill requests, and clinical inquiries to the appropriate provider or department.
* Coordinate with providers, clinical staff, imaging centers, and pharmacies to ensure continuity of patient care.
* Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient confidentiality at all times.
* Provide exceptional customer service while ensuring a positive patient experience.
### Requirements
* Fluent English and Spanish (spoken and written).
* Minimum of **2 years of experience** supporting a U.S.-based medical practice.
* Previous experience as a **Medical Receptionist, Front Desk Coordinator, Medical Administrative Assistant, Patient Coordinator, or Medical Assistant**.
* Experience handling high-volume inbound and outbound patient calls.
* Strong appointment scheduling and calendar management experience.
* Experience using **eClinicalWorks (eCW)** is strongly preferred.
* Experience with insurance verification, eligibility checks, prior authorizations, and referrals is highly preferred.
* Experience in **Pain Management, Spine, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Sports Medicine, or similar specialties** is highly preferred.
* Excellent communication, multitasking, and organizational skills.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.
### Benefits
Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a negotiable pay rate depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 4 PM CST.
