Job Description
Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.
**Supervisory Responsibilities:**
* Assists Warehouse Manager with hiring and training of new employees.
* Schedules and oversees warehouse staff.
* Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
**Duties/Responsibilities:**
* Lead and develop company employees.
* Provide training and monitor the employees’ performance. Be accessible to all areas of the dock and yard.
* Coach/counsel employees on performance and development and document performance-related material.
* Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers’ freight is delivered and picked up timely and damage-free.
* Communicate with Linehaul/dispatch at various terminals and with dock employees to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
* Develop a plan for distributing break loads to achieve goals.
* Monitor service freight and ensure Linehaul compliance.
* Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
* Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and setting appointments.
* Perform administrative functions, as required.
* Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
* Communicate with Account Managers to ensure customers’ and company’s needs are met.
* Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
* Conduct pre-shift meetings.
* Implement company policy.
* Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
* Perform other duties as required.
**Safety Procedures:**
* Ensure all employees are trained on and adhere to safety protocols.
* Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
* Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used correctly.
* Maintain clear and accessible emergency exits and equipment.
* Implement and enforce proper lifting techniques and ergonomics.
* Report and document any accidents or incidents immediately.
* Conduct regular safety meetings and drills to keep safety top of mind.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
* Promote a culture of safety where employees feel empowered to speak up about safety concerns.
**Required Skills/Abilities:**
* 3 plus years leading a logistics team or like experience
* Associates Degree or similar discipline preferred
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
* Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines.
* Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
